Barcelona likes to celebrate Carnival. It is a deeply rooted party celebrated by everyone but especially by children, who enjoy dressing up and walking around showing their creations.

The main events of the city of Barcelona are celebrated during the Maundy Thursday, which this year is February 20. This day is celebrated by eating eggs in all its forms, but the most common is to eat omelettes, “lardon cake” and egg sausage. In the afternoon, Carnival celebrations begin with the Arribo: the arrival of the Carnival King and its entourage that symbolize the seven historic towns of the city: Horta, Sant Andreu, Sarrià, Gràcia, Sants, les Corts and Sant Martí.

Parades will be held throughout the weekend in many different areas of Barcelona, ​​most of them happening on Saturday 22, since Carnival in Barcelona is a party that is celebrated especially in the neighborhoods, as it has a very strong participation by the locals.
